VL STUDIO 150 WALL LAMP, BRUSHED BRASS WITH FINE HAIRLINES, , G9
SIZE: W15 X L21.0 X H15 CM
DESIGNER: VILHELM LAURITZEN DENMARK
The VL Studio series is named after a lamp designed by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen for Radiohuset (the Danish Broadcasting Corporation's headquarters) in Copenhagen in the 1940s. The term 'Studio' was chosen because some of the lamps were utilized outside the studio to signal if the recording was taking place by flashing red or green light. Vilhelm Lauritzen designed Radiohuset, which was launched in 1945 with his functionalist design. Like most of Lauritzen's projects, Radiohuset is a 'gesamtkunstwerk,' which means that he designed all of the interiors and every aspect of the structure for the project. When designing Radiohuset, Lauritzen collaborated closely with Louis Poulsen on a wide range of lights.
