The great mind behind “The Seal” and “The Penguin” lounge chairs, architect and designer, Ib Kofod-Larsen was trained as a cabinetmaker with the highest honours in 1944, and later completed his education at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1948.
In 1958, during HRH Queen Elizabeth II visit to Denmark, she took a fancy to Kofod Larsen's design and craftsmanship and purchased a pair of chairs, there on known as The Elizabeth Chair. Today, his pieces are collected worldwide.
