Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) took a up a position as an apprentice cabinetmaker in Copenhagen. A controversial choice for a woman of the time, but nonetheless the first step in a long and eventful career for the young Ditzel. She later made her name as a versatile designer, working with furniture, jewellery and textiles, always showing an insightful eye for the mode of production.
