Ocean by Nanna Ditzel was awarded the Wallpaper Magazines Design award in early 2019 and exhibits sustainable and innovative thinking.
The Ocean Collection is a reinvented table-and-chair collection made of ocean waste plastic (originally designed in 1955), combining creative methods to avoid pollution of the world's oceans with one of the twentieth century's most known designers, Nanna Ditzel. The light structure with repeating slats and metal frames distinguishes the series, which was designed and tested for outdoor usage.
The ocean waste plastic and recycled plastic (PP) honours the UN Sustainable Development Goals of protecting “Life Below Water” (SDGs 14) and “Responsible Consumption and Production” (SDGs 12) and “Partnership for the Goals” (SDGs 17).
The Ocean Collection is built for disassembly, which means that each component may be recycled into new manufacturing rings in its purest form.
