Snøhetta has designed its first lamp collection, Svit, in cooperation with the Swedish lighting company ateljé Lyktan.
The collection was originally designed as prototypes for the seventh room at Treehotel in Harads, northern Sweden. The family consists of wall, table and floor luminaires.
The collection also plays on clear contrasts between the dark and light, and the interior and exterior. The lamp’s tactile qualities are emphasised by the rough surface of the birch veneer, in total harmony with Scandinavian nature.
Svit is made out of two pieces of birch veneer that are held together by piano hinges. The surface of the wooden exterior has been treated with black paint to reflect the concept of darkness.
