Mid Century hand carved objects in Teak hardwood, were popular in Scandinavian countries when Teak was regarded as an ‘exotic’ wood to the artists from colder climes. The master of these sculptural forms was Dane Jens Quistgaard. Teak, now a protected wood, this fine example of a Quistgaard inspired long shaped tray by artist Stig Sandqvist is finely executed in an organic shape of a leaf.
