DESIGNER: VERNER PANTON, 1971 DENMARK
In 1971, designer and architect Verner Panton (1926-1998) collaborated with Louis Poulsen, designed Panthella. Panton's expressive and whimsical style reflects his outsized personality. The world-renowned Dane continued to discover new materials for the colourful and attractive rooms that he fashioned out of his appealing designs, without compromising on quality or utility. With its organic shape that reflects the softest of light, Panthella stands out as one of Panton's most prominent design symbols. Panton wanted to develop a light that worked as a reflector on both the stand and the shade, merging it with the organic shapes that the Danish designer is known for. Panthella is a great example of Verner Panton's brilliant sense of producing atmospheric illumination, thanks to its non-glaring light.
